“Wo gehöre ich hin?”

translated to “Where do I belong?”

film, running time of 2:28,

created for online exhibition: CHANGING CITIES, 2/29/24

When visiting Berlin and Vienna this February, I looked at each city from the lens of post-Nazi regime, the lasting impact Nazi propaganda, and what Nazi thought has had on communities at large. I asked the question: “Am I/Are we welcome?” as a modern day Jew. The constructs of my identity colored the lens through which I interpreted Austria and Germany. This film, titled “Wo gehöre ich hin?” in German, and “Where do I belong?” in English, is inspired by Berlin artist Sebastian Moske’s films surrounding culture, religion, and other poignant topics. I got to meet and discuss with him about his art and where he derives inspiration, which helped me get inspired to create this film.
